Coachman's Cottage

Coachman's Cottage is new to our collection from July 2012 and offers a unique bolt hole for couples seeking a peaceful coastal retreat. The charming old stable block has recently been renovated to a fantastic standard, with new kitchen, bathroom and furnishings, yet retains many charming original features.

Perfectly sleeping two,  the cottage has a bright and spacious feel with double aspect windows and a separate living room with floor to ceiling windows looking out into your own private walled garden.   This courtyard is a real sun trap, offering a sense of privacy in which to relax or eat alfresco - the kitchen door opens directly into this outdoor space.  Upstairs, a romantic bedroom has superb views over the garden to the sea beyond.

"...Have been to numerous self-catering cottages and would rate this as one of the best.  A cosy and wonderful retreat."  Richard and Lyn, Essex.

Located in fields overlooking the National Trust shoreline and coast path, the cottage is only a few minutes drive to Porlock Weir and Harbour with its pub and two restaurants.  In the other direction, Porlock Village is within easy walking distance and has many additional places to eat and explore.  The cottage is situated in outstanding walking country and for the more energetic there are coastal, woodland and moorland walks served by a network of superb paths - all within a stones throw.  Dogs are welcomed and especially catered for with the enclosed courtyard garden and access to a stock-free and fenced meadow immediately behind the cottage.

"...Perfectly placed for lots of wonderful things to do around the area...the cottage itself is relaxed and welcoming - exactly like its owners."  Alex and Neil, Bath.

Coachman's Cottage is set alongside the main house at Broomclose and has easy parking for two cars.

"...Beautifully decorated, clean and warm ...(it)... is the perfect base to explore Exmoor and the surrounding area.  We've been going on UK walking holidays hiring cottages for a few years now, and genuinely Coachman's was the best we've had. Thank-you."  Rob and Linda, Hampshire.
